Frequently Asked Questions
Hookah Hutt offers traditional and modern Shishas, Flavors and Accessories to Hong Kongers and has been doing so since 2008.
We usually stock over 52 tobacco-free and nicotine-free flavors ranging from classics such as Apple, Mint and Grape to new exotic flavors such as Blue Mist, Lavender Mint, Pink Lemonade.
Hookah and shisha are different words used to describe the same thing, which is an arabic water-pipe.
In some cultures they are also referred to as Hukka, Narghile and even Hubbly Bubbly.
You can try Shisha in many reputable Shisha bars and restaurants in Hong Kong. You can also enjoy a shisha session from the comfort of your own home anytime if you purchase a shisha from our store.
The height of the shisha has little effect on the overall taste or pull of the experience. As long as the hookah is air tight and well designed it should smoke well whether it is 14 or 40inches.
Setting up a shisha at home has become very common and is incredibly easy.
Once you have assembled your Hookah you can follow 3 easy steps to setup your shisha.
Step 1) Base – Add tap water to the base of your Shisha until the stem (or down-tube) is submerged about 1 – 1.5 inches in water.
Step 2) Head – Take your Shisha Head (or Bowl) and loosely sprinkle the flavor of choice into the bowl. Next very gently pat the flavor down to create an even surface…Not too tight as it is best to leave some air pockets in-between the flavor for the best taste. Then cover with foil tightly and poke holes evenly using a toothpick. Make sure to leave 1-2mm between the flavor and foil.
(If you are using a “Heat Management System” such as Kaloud Lotus, a foil is not required.)
Step 3) Coals – Place 1-2 pieces of charcoal of your choice on an over flame stove. Once the coals turn mostly grey or “ashy” you can place them on top of the foil or “Heat Management System” such as Kaloud Lotus and let them rest for about 3-5 minutes before starting.
Now sit back, relax and enjoy your pipe!
